The Film

Thelma & Louise is nothing short of an American classic, if for no other reason than an iconic ending known even by those who have never seen the movie, and the buzz it stirred upon its release 20 years ago. So it’s safe to say that it deserves the 20th anniversary Blu-ray treatment it received from 20th Century Fox, but whether that treatment warrants a purchase is another question. (more…)

At last year’s Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo, Max Brooks hosted a panel that went over his career and various pieces of work he has done throughout his career. Besides the movie adaptation to World War Z, currently floating in limbo, one other project particularly stood out to the crowd, a G.I. Joe comic book penned by Brooks. The Film

Rain Man holds four Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay – and would very likely have won most of them again had it been nominated in any of the years following its 1988 release. It was groundbreaking and working outside the realm of the usual Hollywood formula when it was released, and holds up extremely well today, actually earning more respect with time because of what we as a society have learned about autism. The Film

Reformat the Planet is a feature-length documentary that delves into the scene of chip music, or as mass audiences may know it before seeing this film – the music that sounds like it came from an 8-bit video game. As well as paying homage to its gaming technology roots, and at the same time separating chip tunes into its own art form, Reformat the Planet offers an exciting look into a subculture custom tailored for tech geeks.
