The Season
Glee has become a runaway hit in the last year and a half. The show, in case you haven’t already heard, is about some misfit kids and some popular ones coming together to sing and dance in a school glee club. Despite having almost won regionals last year, the kids in New Directions are still viewed as outcasts and are often on the receiving end of slushie facials. They aren’t deterred and begin recruiting for new members. Through the first half of the second season, old relationships end, new relationships begin and the group’s solidarity is rocked by some new challenges.
The DVD
The special features in this set include the Glee Music Jukebox that made its first appearance in Season 1, Volume 2. Fans can listen to their favorite songs without having to search for them in the episodes. Also included is a Making of the Rocky Horror Glee Show featurette and an exclusive bonus song from the same episode that didn’t make it to the show. Jane Lynch has a feature about her experience with getting a wax sculpture made of her beloved and witty, yet evil, character, Sue Sylvester. And last but not least, there is a taping of the Glee cast at their 2010 Comic-Con panel and a montage of the Wit of Brittany, who has made a much bigger appearance in this season thus far.
Overall, for fans of the show, this is a great set, but not necessarily at a great price. Unless one were to find it on sale, it would probably be better to wait for the whole season collection to come out this spring.
