The Film

Most fans are probably familiar with the on-again off-again rescheduling history of Family Guy on Fox. The discerning fans of that group are probably even more familiar with the diminishing returns of the series over the course of these changes, even while Seth MacFarlane has practically taken over all of the programming of Fox’s prime time schedule.

Something, Something Darkside marks the second of a planned trilogy of Star Wars parodies courtesy of Family Guy. Like Blue Harvest, Darkside starts with power in the Griffin household cut once again. It forces the family to gather in the living room, and Peter tells his version of the ongoing Star Wars saga, this time based on The Empire Strikes Back. (more…)

After what seemed like an eternity awaiting the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on Blu-ray, the emotionally wrenching and heart-string-pulling drama has finally released! That is what is called sarcasm, yet if someone was to say that to director Gavin Hood, he would take that statement as a compliment and most likely add to it with some gibberish about the underlying duality of Wolverine’s struggle to cage the beast or bay at the moon. The Film

Intelligent old-school parody with a healthy dose of toilet humor doesn’t get much better than that of Mel Brooks – whether it be the western, history or science-fiction. And after a six-year hiatus from film in the 1980s, Brooks parodied the biggest science-fiction film of them all, Star Wars, with his unforgettable Spaceballs. (more…)

The X-Men Trilogy Pack is a sleeved-set that comprises three cases, one for each of the first three X-Men films, each with three Blu-ray discs. Due to the nature of the separate films, John opted to review each of the films and their features separately, but the trilogy is ultimately purchased in one boxed set.
