It’s our “Say Cheese! or just Hi” Contest.
*Sticky – New Posts Will Appear Below
Telltale Games has generously provided us with three (3) download codes for the entire Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures series on PC. That’s three (3) copies of a series of four (4) episodes that retail for $34.95.
And seeing as this is the first week at the site, we’ve decided to make it easy for our readers. All you need to do is make yourself heard by commenting on one or as many of this week’s four major posts as you’d like. Eligible posts are as follows…
Tuesday – Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures Episode 1: Fright of the Bumble Bees [Review]
Wednesday – Video Games Live [Interview]
Thursday – Batman R.I.P. [Review]
Friday – Killzone 2 [Review]
For every post, each user can earn one entry in the random drawing by posting a comment. Readers who respond to this post with general thoughts, comments and suggestions about the site will receive a bonus entry into the drawing. Users who post a funny Wallace & Gromit-inspired photo (it must be PG-13 appropriate) on this post will receive another entry. That’s a total of six possible entries that can be earned over the course of the week. Ah, math.
The contest period ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time Friday, March 27. At the end of the contest period we will randomly select three winners who will each receive a code for the entire Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures series on PC, provided by Telltale Games. Winners will be announced and contacted by Monday, March 30.
You must create an account to comment on our site, but it’s as easy as creating a username and providing an email (we need to contact you in case you’re one of our winners). Any users caught posting on multiple accounts will be disqualified.
Official Rules
1. Open to United States residents.
2. To enter, please read the instructions provided above. Users can earn a maximum of six entries in the random drawing.
3. Pads & Panels will only contact you if you win.
4. You give us permission to use your first name and town if you win.
5. This contest is open to all ages, as the game has an ESRB Rating of E for Everyone.
6. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time Friday, March 27.
7. Users caught creating multiple accounts to enter will be disqualified.
8. To be fair, writers for Pads & Panels and their immediate family members are not elligible to win.

Why is the competition only for US residents? As the game(s) are awarded as downloads and not in post packages or something, I don’t really understand why they couldn’t be awarded to people from other countries as well (like me). Unless there’s some law business going on that I’m unaware of.
Nevertheless, I’m going to check out the site in coming days too. The writing is good, but the colour scheme is quite bland. Though it makes the site clearer and easier to navigate, the impression it gives isn’t particularly exciting.
I hope you’ll cover independent games too.

The site looks good so far, good luck with everything and i’m looking forward to reading the reviews.

Generally, contests will only be open to US residents because of shipping issues. This contest is simply a download code, but certain countries have weird rule on prize giveaways. Quebec, Canada, for instance, has some weird taxing rules and notification required for any giveaway that is available to its residents. We simply didn’t have the time or knowledge to know where else we could and couldn’t offer it without running into problems. We hope to get that sorted out for future contests.
I thank you nevertheless for coming by to check out the site, and hope you will continue to do so. Thanks for the input on the look of the site too. I can tell you that part of the goal was clarity and easy navigation, and have received some positive emails about that. We wanted to avoid the sensory overload of many sites. We do consider it a work-in-progress though and appreciate the input.
We definitely want to cover independent games and would love to hear any recommendations you have. We try to find as much as we can, but there are only so many of us and we’re bound to miss some cool independent stuff now and again, so if there’s something you’ve found and think we should be covering, please let us know.

Also, we’re still learning and seeing how things go, but we might try to toss some cool swag out to active readers behind the scenes once in awhile too, instead of through contests. So there still might be some incentive to participate, you know, other than all the great writing : )

Honestly, I found this site on Telltale and thought it would be a bad scam. But it’s not. This site is way better than I would have expected (Some kid with poor grammar trying to get more visitors). I read the Wallace and Gromit review as well as that interview with the video game concert guy…This looks like it’s going to be a great site!
Oh, and how do you insert a picture?
March 26th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
I’ll be a strong supporter for this site. you guys have a lot of original ideas. Good luck guys, keep it up.

You must have been the guy that called me out on the board, eh? : ) Thanks for taking a minute to check us out, though. Much appreciated. We’re happy with the site, but it is admittedly a work-in-progress. Avatar support is one of the things we’re looking into and will keep users updated on. Gravatar seems like the easiest thing to do right now. It’s a globally recognized avatar that should follow you to whatever sites you post on. We’re looking at adding our own system for avatars, but there are a few complications it might create that we’re trying to work around right now. We’ll keep you posted.
