Title: Dead To Rights: Retribution

Platform: 360 (PS3)

ESRB: M

Publisher: Namco Bandai Games

Developer: Volatile Games

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Review By: Eric Stuckart

There are certain types of movies that I acknowledge to be mediocre on the whole, but I love them nonetheless. A lot of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s action films from the 1980s tend to fall into this category. While far from being the type of fare one would find in his older filmography, Dead to Rights: Retribution falls into this category for me as well. For all intents and purposes, I shouldn’t like this game, but something compels me to take sick pleasure in its glorification of ‘brutal’ takedowns and complete disregard for the ethical treatment of perps in the law enforcement field. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (commonly known as E3) is right around the corner. Next week, as a matter of fact. It is one of the industry’s biggest events for hands-on time with upcoming games and traditionally the stage for major announcements.

Sadly, no one from the core Pads & Panels staff could make the trek out to Los Angeles for the event, but it still needs covering. So, we’ve recruited fellow gaming journalist and Bill’s Punkbands.com co-writer Chris Park, who will be in attendance and meeting with developers. Park has been kind enough to offer a daily update from the show room floor during E3. We thought readers would like to get to know Park a little better before reading his coverage next week, so we asked him to send a bio. He obliged. (more…)

Product: PAC-MAN Shot Glasses

Website: www.clubnamco.com

MSRP: $29.99

Review by: Bill Jones

This was clearly designed for fans of the original PAC-MAN arcade…who drink a lot. The set includes six shot glasses, on which are printed the four ghosts, cherries and PAC-MAN himself, in all their pixelated glory. Keeping them in the box makes for a decent display, but that takes away the fun of drinking out of them. A little more variety would have been nice, but it’s still a fun set for the hardcore, drunken fans of the dot-swallowing yellow circle. Use WAKAWAKA in the clubNamco store for 10 percent off.
